Afternoon Tour of Lavender Fields - Riverboat Cruise

Lavender Fields and View Harvest.

sunny 23 °C

Our Cruise Director was always promoting the optional tours, and for several days spoke of the Lavender Fields. We were informed that it was nearing the season end for Lavender and most fields had been harvested.

On the day of the tour we were advised there were some fields near Grignan, so we booked the afternoon tour.

The drive through the countryside was pleasant, it even included passing a series of nuclear power plants which was a "first time" for us.

We passed many Lavender fields which had been harvested, then passed a few scrappy fields, turned a corner and were greeted with a beautiful field where harvesting had commenced. How lucky we were, we had a beutiful lavender field in front of us and were also able to witness the harvesting process.
